Marine Barracks, Bremerhaven, 1945 (Source: author's collection) Downtown Bremerhaven - the Capitol Theater was equipped with a 35-mm projector and showed movies every day. Next to the theater was the Red Cross-run Spot Club. It offered dances three nights a week, with the 421st Army Band providing live music every Saturday night and a German Symphony Orchestra playing on Sunday afternoons.
