Berchtesgaden Sub Area, 1951 (Source: Author's collection) The Berchtesgadener Hof was located at the intersection Gmundberg - Hanielstrasse. The hotel was requisitioned after the war and occupied by the US Army between 1945 and 1995 when it was returned to the German government. In 2006, the hotel was torn down to make way for a museum.
