Berchtesgaden Recreation Area (Source: Webmaster's collection) A driving range or golf course above the General Walker Hotel - probably early 1950s. Comments by Geoff Walden (Third Reich in Ruins): This golf course is located below the site of the Gen. Walker Hotel. The buildings in the background are the former Gutshof farm complex, used by AFRC as the Skytop Lodge. The golf course and buildings are still there, except the hotel building which was torn down a few years ago. (This view is reversed as shown on your page – it should be flipped. DONE!) I think the photo was actually taken in this area.
