6th Infantry Regiment, Berlin, 1951 (Source: 6th Inf Regt PIO) In 1947, nine months after the conclusion of the Nürnberg Trials, the seven remaining prisoners were moved to Spandau Prison. In 1951, all seven were still serving their sentences at the prison: Karl Doenitz, Walther Funk, Erich Raeder, Rudolf Hess, Albert Speer, Konstantin von Neurath and Baldur von Schirach. A military guard, rotating on a monthly basis, was provided by the four occupying powers, the US, Britain, France and Soviet Union. The military guard was provided by a platoon strength who manned the six watch towers.
