There are over 4,000 persons employed at the 213-acre Mannheim Ordnance Supply Depot (MOSD) - 150 US military and civilians, 177 Labor Service personnel and 3,700 German civilians. CO is Lt Col Arthur E. Kehke.
With more than 156,000 tons of ordnance supplies (ranging from spare parts to major assemblies) on hand, the Depot supplies Army and Air Force units in Germany, France and MDAP countries (Mutual Defense Assistance Program).
MOSD also provides reclamation services, demilitarization of items no longer required, manufacturing services for scarce parts and field maintenance of equipment in storage.
Monthly average of material shipped by the Depot is 5,000 tons. |
